Bands Appearing on Saturday 23rd
The Thought Criminals - http://www.myspace.com/thethoughtcriminals
Back in 2004 in London, UK Kirlian Blue and Rocky Goode decided to form an act called The Thought Criminals. With the help of a Dance Producer Tony Messenger and mixer Rob Henry they pulled of their first album. The duo have built up quite a cult following over the following years. Headlining very well known and famous London (UK) live venues such as the mass, the underworld, the dublin castle, goldsmiths college, and The 333 Club !
Kaya - www.myspace.com/officialkaya
Kaya are an energetic 5-piece live group fusing together Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Pop,
Dub and Reggae, consisting of a 3-piece backing band and 2 vocalists, Natty and Aina,
whose vocal styles perfectly compliment both each other and the music.
The band have played all over the UK and Europe at events such as Berlin Fashion Week
and the Sony Radio Academy Awards, toured with BBC 1Xtra nationally, and have
supported chart-topping acts such as Sugababes and Ne-Yo.
Kaya devote a lot of time to charity causes helping to raise funds through live performance.
Most of the members founded and run Defcon Workshops, an initiative to help educate
teenagers in musical skills such as composing, production, lyric-writing and more, and
vocalist Natty has been appointed as an Ambassador of the Prince's Trust as a result of
this successful initiative.
Taken from the forthcoming album 'Look Beneath The Surface', Kaya's lead track 'Rat
Race' takes a satirical look at the reality of getting caught up in the responsibilities of
modern day life, aiming to bring a bit of joy to all of those who hear it.
The Sense o Amelia - http://www.myspace.com/thesenseofamelia
After a small break, some solo projects and a stint in the studio, the Sense of Amelia are back, bigger and better than you've ever heard, and are now joined by singer/songwriter Damien Renouf on Guitars, Keyboards and Backing Vocals. Keep an ear out for these guys over the next few months!
The Muscats - www.myspace.com/themuscats5
'Muscats' will make you move your feet using a potent combination of dancey indie beats, scratchy rhythms and corrupting melodies. The bands debut single is due for release 15 March 2010 through Atomica Records. You will love it!
Kid Champion - http://www.myspace.com/kidchampionmusic
KID CHAMPION started life as a live band in somewhat inauspicious circumstances. Carrying their gear into a rehabilitation centre in Richmond, Surrey, the three-piece from Twickenham, comprised of Max Walsh on guitar and vocals, Davey Nicholson on bass and Silas Armstrong on drums, were quick to realise that Detroit Rock City this ain't.
Two songs later and they'd finished, only to have their stage invaded by a recovering heroin addict who lead them in a twenty minute improvised “jamming” session. Rock and roll glory was a distant vision.
DJs Kleenex in support.
