In the space of less than a week the Rock Star Lottery has descended into a farcical circus of claim and counter-claim, accusation and defeat.
Following accusations concerning issues of vote manipulation by the organiser, and the claim that there are not now, nor ever have been, any real voters on the site bar the bands themselves and their own friends, members have broken through the wall of silence prudently cultivated and maintained on the forums to voice their own doubts. Persistant rumours that the majority of the votes appearing on the bands' accounts have, from the very beginning of the competition, been generated by the site owner himself in order to maintain the bands' interest, interactivity and their own voting contributions, in addition to making the site seem well attended and popular, have been denied. The site's administrator has openly admitted the project was 'doomed' and that he will consider removing bands who show doubts in the system and replace them with previously eliminated 'site friendly' bands as the RSL talks about moving to a new phase with less money on offer in the prize fund, and fewer bands enlisted to fight for it.
The 1.1 Million pounds claimed to have been collected so far in the competition's nine month history will be refunded to all who have voted thus far. Although a number of the bands have expressed their regret at the closure of this competition, voters have been slow to show their views despite the fact that votes are still continuing to come in, albeit now in a slow trickle rather than the regular stream of hundreds per day, every day, to which the bands have become accustomed.
IF YOU VOTED AT ANY STAGE OF THIS LOTTERY .... MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK.

Hi Dom,
I did say this at the time when this guy came on here trying to advertise, I spoke to him and came to the conclusion he was insane.
I think I mentioned this to you at the time in a conversation.

LoL
To be sure .... but he gave it a go ..... only went the wrong way about doing it. Sad for those that believed - but you can't pull that sort of wool over anyone's eyes for that amount of time without some of the sheep seeing the light ....
I'm sure if he told it how it was from the start - particularly when it came to the real number of outside voters - some of those artists now kicking off wouldn't have felt so used and manipulated. I 'spose the only good thing was that there WASN'T a huge audience there watching the begging and baying for votes.
