To The Bones formed in 2004 using limbs and organs from 2 separate bands merging as one. The bands first demo E.P was recorded in using the most minimal of recording equipment in the bedroom of Rhys's with a shitty but priceless £3 P.C microphone. The Demo was labelled 'Beakerizer' and was a 5 track disc. The results were raw , messy and unique but would prove to be invaluable in building a devoted following. Due to financial limitations CD-Rs were handed out at shows to whoever would welcome them into their hands. The demo tape was sent off for the scrutiny of a review and received excellent reviews from the likes of Manchester Music Publishing ( 4/5- Demo of the week ), HighVoltage - ( The loudest demo they've ever recieved ), Bloodflower corps, PowPowPow Zine and many many more. This was just the start. By the end of 2004 To The Bones were headlining the likes of Manchester Roadhouse amongst others, playing packed hometown shows and 2005 saw the bands first trip to London to perform Camdens Purple Turtle venue bringing their friends/ fans along with them. After a great run of shows around the UK the band then set up plans for a second studio EP.
In spring 2005 the opportunity arose for To The Bones to record with a producer named Chris Mcgloin in a DIY built Pro Tools studio situated in the ghetto of Bolton UK. It was an old warehouse/factory and was the place where the 4 track 'The Halo Effect' EP was recorded using equipment salvaged from the 'YOU ARE BEING LIED TO' album sessions by the band KINESIS after their unfortunate demise. This was to be the To The Bones' most 'varied' edging on 'Pop' of type of musical experiments and cost only £100 which came from the touring. The EP was to be the bands first presentable, professional release which came with pull out sleeve and thermally printed disc. This obviously cost money, so the band, with a bit of know how, for a July summer release, put on a packed CD launch show in their home town and broke even with money left over. 'The Halo Effect' EP enjoyed some great press once more from the likes of Manchester Music Publishing (4/5), Bloodflower corps, POWPOWPOW zine and many more.
By the end of 2005, a certain chap - Conor Mcgloin who was the lead guitarist of the band Kinesis was at helm. Conor heard the 2nd set of recordings and wanted to record and engineer the new To The Bones songs. At this point, after months of relentlessly doing shows, the sound of To The Bones' started to develop into a whirlwind of ferociousness on a whole new level. For the new recordings To The Bones stepped up with some killer rock material. Songs such as TYCHO, REX, THE HALO EFFECT came to fruition in these Conor Mcgloin sessions. Now this is where the ball started to roll heavy, sleek and fast. During 2006, mini touring of the new songs began which led to To The Bones performing the infamous Manchester Academy, Pleasure Unit and Bull and Gate in London and also were main support to the high profile band OCEANSIZE during the Halloween period 2006. The band also got the opportunity to support ace punk rock band KILL KENADA adored by Zane Lowe on numerous occasions as well as Slaves to Gravity in Manchester.
With all this happening this 3 track demo (Rex, Tycho, The Halo Effect) was sent off to reviewers, e-zines, radio dj's and independent labels around the country. The demo received great UK press and was loved by ROCKSOUND MAGAZINE giving the cd (8/10) Number 1 Demo/EP of the month in 2007 quoting “To The Bones are sure to become a significant name in UK independent rock.”
Manchester Music Publishing quoted it “spell binding”. ( 4 ½ /5 ) (see reviews archive)
To The Bones enjoyed some Air Play from the likes of John Kennedy @ XFM London during this period also and also got a track named ' No Liar is a friend of Mine' from 'The Halo Effect EP featured on MTV for the show MTV WRECKED starring DAINTON and PRITCHARD from Dirty Sanchez .
Shortly after, around spring 2007 the band received release offers from 2 independent record labels who were keen and excited with working with To The Bones. Repeater Records ( Bolton ) and ORG records (London) came on board .The first release was to be on the Infamous ORG RECORDS London who were to be a massive driving force and still are in the bands rise in the rock world and music scene. ORG RECORDS heard the 3 track demo and got excited enough to want to release a single for TO THE BONES.. The band were offered a split single release with Stoke's HERZOGA and was limited to 1000 copies only. ORG records have released singles by bands as infamous as MY VITRIOL and the unreal CARDIACS! + many, many more. The tracks TYCHO was to be the A side of the single and REX was chosen to be the B side and was released in summer 2007.
The single received unbelievable reviews from reviewers all over the country from zines such as SUBCULTURE, Room Thirteen, Rock Midget, Manchester Music, Losing Today Magazine + many many more. Also on top of this To The Bones tracks from the split single were played by legendary DJ's such as JOHN KENNEDY ( XFM ) , IAN CAMFIELD ( XFM ), Total Rock London, Steve Jones ( Thee Sex Pistol in LA), BBC regional stations, POPSCENE with JALAL in Germany, Milton Keynes FM, Resonance FM stations, plus local radio stations such as Chorley FM. Lots of Gratitude go out to these people and stations.

This music video was featured and frequents on national television stations such as ORGAN TV and MUSFLASH Tv on Sky Digital.
With the success of To The Bones' first single and still living its shelf life period right now, and gaining a place on a Music Management Roster with Volcanic Media, Autumn 2007 brought some awesome opportunitys to support some high profile bands such as THE EIGHTIES MATCHBOX B-LINE DISASTER as part of their UK TOUR and the U.S.A's DEERHUNTER in Manchester as part of their UK TOUR. Plus playing a support show at the metro London with new also destined for big things band Imperial Leisure. ( Also on Org Records )
As 2007 draws to a close TO THE BONES , with a 2nd single release in progress of release, gig dates with LA's JUBILEE ( feat members of Queens of the Stoneage and Nine Inch Nails ) and more dates to come , TO THE BONES are in strong stead. 2008 will definitely be the year of the BONE – TO THE BONES.
