Lizzyspit is a singer/songwriter based in Clapham, London with an unmistakable charm and innocence. She has a stunning, delicate and pleading voice which she accompanies with nothing more than an acoustic guitar.
What more is required when you have these true qualities?
Her debut album EGGBOX, is full of honesty, sincerity and charm and with enough of life’s harsh realities and experiences with people and life, lets the listener know how Lizzyspit deals with such situations. As Lizzy states “To the boys and girls who have hurt me and the boys and girls I’ve hurt, without you my songs wouldn’t exist”. This is an insight into the person Lizzy is and one that captures the snapshots of experiences that happen to almost everyone throughout life.
Written, performed and mixed by Lizzy herself, locked away like a hermit in an egg boxed bedroom (hence the title!), this a raw and beautiful sounding album, one that hopefully shows the dedication to her songs and music that Lizzyspit so obviously has.
As one reviewer recently stated “Powerful models are gaining popularity, such as Cat Power, Sandi Thom, Emmy The Great and now Lizzyspit”. This truly is deserved recognition for Lizzy’s beautiful, soulful vocals, which are in equal parts full of pain and sensual.
“Lizzyspit…well worth playing!”
Steve Lamacq
“There’s an acoustic guitar strummed throughout, but it’s little more than token accompaniment….it is her voice that’s the song’s driver, and the articulation of her angst and frustration is palpable.”
Music News 4/5
“Her combination of heartfelt, soulful vocals and quirky melodies and both unique and instantly contagious”
Rhythm and Booze
"Eggbox is charming and enlightening.....quaintly beautiful work...with her relaxed, soulful, gritty and thoughtful acoustic style…it's cool to hear someone givin' it real like this".
Toxic Pete
“This girls got some soul. Add to this some charm, wit and a tug on your heartstrings and you’ve got yourself a winner!”
